Local Titleholders on the Web

One of my favorite ways to keep in touch with people is via my blog or website. It lets both those who know me and those who don't see what I've been up to. I've had several positive comments about my website from different groups that I have spoken with. But- I am not the only one! Virginia is lucky because not only are many of our titleholders very active in their communities, they maintain websites! I thought I would share all the links I was personally aware of for the different ladies. If you know of more, please feel free to comment!

Lion's Club Appearance

Last night I spoke to the Blacksburg Lion's Club. As usual, I was asked great questions after my speech! I also met a Hungarian refugee who left Hungary twice- once from Nazi's and later from Communists. Being such a political science junkie and someone who's very interested in Europe, it was really a fascinating conversation! He told me about how he had to drop out of Boy Scouts because the communist rulers outlawed the organization when he was young. It's always great to meet new people and it was great to connect with someone over Scouting.

Girl Scout Thinking Day

Today I spent the morning at Girl Scout Thinking Day here, helping out. It was a great event. The purpose of Thinking Day is to introduce girls to countries all over the world. Our troop presented England because I lived there for a year, but the girls loved "traveling" around to the different countries!

Kiwanis Club

Yesterday I had a great appearances at the Blacksburg Kiwanis Club. It had been such a long and stressful week at school and it was honestly refreshing to be with such an upbeat group of people from the community. They were extremely supportive and came with great questions! I was also so thankful that someone volunteered to take pictures with my camera and took pictures of the crowd while I was speaking. As I mentioned, they were in great spirits, and it was really wonderful to get to speak with people who were responding actively to my presentation!
